Greeley Tribune: Is Dan England’s column part of a pattern?

Dan England referred to race or ethnicity 11 times in his Oct. 1, 2017, piece (“Now is the time to kneel or understand why some do.”)

For some reason, it’s okay to lump people together into groups and grossly apply broad stereotypes, as long as you paint certain groups as victims and other groups as perpetrators.

According to the Liberal playbook, we are not allowed to criticize people who happen to be black, even if they defy every Leftist stereotype of being poor and downtrodden. The NFL players in question are athletically gifted, have been celebrated and adored in every aspect of American life and rewarded with great wealth. But what still matters most to many on the left is that they are black.

It’s all the rage for Progressives to be perpetually offended; to teach children about “micro-aggression,” and that children must apologize for their “White Privilege.”

But if you happen to be white, male, Christian, or heaven forbid, Conservative, you are not allowed to be offended — ever! Even if the flag, the country, the heritage and the history you love is being defamed, disrespected, and smeared.

We are told that we must understand and even accept ignorant and arrogant behavior from people in certain protected groups. If we don’t, we are, you guessed it, racists, bigots, etc. You know the list well.

The definition of racist has come to mean almost anything one happens not to like. If you broaden it far enough, all white people are racists. Bingo.

Mr. England illustrates this clearly when he suggests that the President’s use of the term SOB was more evidence that he is a racist and therefore, a “foul, angry white man.” (Hardly a bigoted stereotype there.)

We are supposed to accept without question the term SOB is racist. But when has this commonly used pejorative ever been limited to a particular race?

England further protests: How could Trump not be a racist? He advocated the firing of ESPN’s Jemele Hill, and she’s black. He never mentions the sports anchor called Trump a white supremacist and a bigot with no facts or evidence except smears similar to those previously mentioned.

Ms. Hill was probably not interested to know in 1986, Trump was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and stood proudly with Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali. After more than 40 years in the public eye, Trump only became a racist when he decided to run for President as a Republican in 2015.

To refuse to treat an individual or group of people the same as you would treat anyone else (including criticism) because of the color of their skin is the very essence of racism.

So, in the interest of what one hopes is a refreshing departure, here are some rarely reported facts:

» “Hands up don’t shoot” was a lie. It never happened.

» Blacks comprise about 13 percent of the population, but commit half of all homicides, mostly against black men.

» Blacks are more likely to kill cops than be killed by cops.

Omissions and lies about these explosive topics are being foisted on the public to fuel the divisiveness, which Mr. England once again, is happy to blame on Donald Trump.

Eventually, you have to look for patterns and political motives whenever statements lack credibility, as when Maxine Waters called for Trump’s impeachment before he was even inaugurated.

Juries are always instructed they may reject all or part of a witness’ testimony if that witness has shown a pattern, which lacks credibility.

Are you beginning to see a pattern here?
